Express Entry Canada
Express Entry was released by the Canadian Government on January 1, 2015, in an effort to choose skilled immigrants as Permanent Residents of Canada.
Express Entry is used to handle applications for Permanent Residence under three federal economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
Provinces and territories might also recruit candidates in the Express Entry system through their Provincial Nominee Programs in order to reach local labour market needs.
Step 1 – Potential Candidates must complete an Online Express Entry Profile
Step 2 – The highest-ranking candidates while in the pool might be invited to apply for Permanent Residence
Candidates might be ranked against others while in the pool having a point-based system referred to as the Comprehensive Ranking System. Points are awarded using the info for their profile.
Candidates with the greatest scores in the pool might be issued an Invitation to Apply. Candidates might be awarded points for:
- a job offer, without or with LMIA, or

The updated Express Entry Official Instructions include:
